Our team is growing! Guardian Industries has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Planner at our glass plant in Carleton, MI (greater Detroit area). This is a highly visible role with a measurable impact on the business! The Maintenance Planner schedules maintenance tasks to minimize impact on production and increase the efficiency of maintenance resources. The Planner is responsible for evaluating the need for replacement parts, scheduling orders, and improving the productivity & work quality of the Maintenance Department. This will be accomplished by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through effective planning and coordination of manpower, parts & materials, and equipment access. The Maintenance Planner acts as the liaison between Production and Maintenance and is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all non-demand work performed.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Review and approve production maintenance requests Plan, order parts, and prepare work orders for work to be performed by technicians to ensure that the repair is performed in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensure open communication between technicians, operations, and supervisors
- Utilize and maintain a CMMS database Write Job Safety Analysis for non-standard work Provide leadership to improve reliability, reduce waste, and improve skills and effectiveness of maintenance resources
- Create and update preventative maintenance procedures Understand safe work practices and lead safety by example
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and discipline to balance break-in and scheduled work, and provide a weekly forecast of work to schedule
- Encourage mechanics and operators to demonstrate personal ownership and fostering the personal growth of their capabilities
- Collaborate with Area Leaders to prioritize work Assist in manpower optimization and share with other Reliability Coordinators and/or Planners
- Set priority for every work through discussion with the originator, department manager, considering business impact and cost
What you will need
Basis Qualifications
- Three (3) more years' manufacturing maintenance experience
- Experience using preventive/predictive maintenance methods and processes
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drive systems and components Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as the EAM / Infor
