Direct/Indirect Cost Stream Leader

Georgia-Pacific has an exciting opportunity for an Indirect/Direct Work Stream Leader to join our operations in Palatka, FL. They will provide leadership and strategic direction to drive optimization opportunities to advance our vision of creating the greatest value from implementing sustainable practices to achieve and maintain performance across the mill. This individual will collaborate across the enterprise to ensure the best tools and technology available are considered, trialed, and continually adjusted to uncover virtuous cycles of mutual benefit. Additionally, they will ensure the organization engages in processes of rapid profitable action with accountability, strategically prioritizing areas of greatest value potential. They will be expected to grow the capabilities of personnel throughout the mill to successfully meet our improvement targets. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

The incumbent will take mill-wide responsibility for leading spend waste reduction efforts reporting to the Transformation Office Leader. They will be expected to achieve rapid results by leveraging the competitive advantages of our people (daily management system), our processes (process center-lining, playbook, and other mental models) and our technologies (sensors, process monitoring, PI).

Sustainable results will be achieved long-term by ensuring independent technology and management systems are in place.

The Direct/Indirect Work Stream Leader will collaborate within the site, other mills, and corporate teams to define and execute the greatest spend waste reduction opportunities and collaborate with internal and external preferred partners for successful execution of our strategic goals.

They will provide leadership for the mill’s operations capability working with the mill’s Transformation Office Leader, Financial Analysis Leader, Business Leaders, Department Leaders, hourly and salary personnel, and other Work Stream Leaders.

This individual must be able to partner effectively with other Work Stream Leaders (Productivity, Disciplined Operations, Sourcing) and their organizations to appropriately challenge norms and implement strategic efforts in support of achieving the greatest value.

 

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Three (3) or more years experience in a manufacturing environment including experience in a leadership role with responsibility for the development of salaried or hourly personnel.
  • Knowledge of work execution processes for projects with a demonstrated history of success in realizing targeted objectives.
  • Experience influencing others through successful organizational skills (meetings, action registers, follow through and accountability). 

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience coordinating resources in a complex manufacturing environment with a record of demonstrated success towards achieving organizational goals.
  • Five (5) years or more of experience influencing decision making in a collaborative operations process with alignment on what, who, and by when defined and agreed upon by stakeholders.
  • Experience in the pulp and paper industry with understanding of where the greatest direct and indirect spend waste opportunities reside
