Production Supervisor (1st or 2nd Shift)
Description
We are growing! Guardian Industries has an immediate need for a Production Supervisor to join our team in Hialeah, FL (greater Miami area). The Hialeah plant is a glass fabrication facility that produces laminated glass, insulated glass units, & tempered glass for the residential window industry. This is an essential piece of Guardian’s glass fabrication division that focuses on delivering make-to-order glass products and solutions to our end customers. We are seeking individuals that are able to work a non-rotating straight first or second shift. General shifts are Monday - Friday. First shift hours are 6am - 3pm. Second shift hours are 3pm - midnight.
As a Production Supervisor, you will develop and improve manufacturing processes and best practices, and be accountable for achieving cost, schedule, and productivity metrics by directing department work. The position's primary responsibility is ensuring safety, culture and operational effectiveness using lean manufacturing tactics with a focus on production efficiency. It is an expectation of the Production Supervisor to develop and mentor employees on their team. Come check out what we have to offer!
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Lead and develop team members to improve individual and organization performance
- Leverage technical, mechanical, process-oriented aptitudes to learn a manufacturing process
- Set standards, measures, and improve processes
- Implement change: Motivate employees to embrace and adapt to changes
- Lead, track, and improve performance on key department goals and objectives
- Lead performance management, coaching and corrective action processes for assigned crew
- Improve plant performance through process improvements and lean manufacturing techniques, where it adds value
- Collaborate and coordinate with other departments to optimize production requirements (e.g., Sales, Scheduling, Warehouse, Shipping, etc.)
- Own and execute upstream and downstream processes to exceed customer expectations
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Two (2) or more years of experience leading initiatives/projects in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- MS Office experience (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Able to work various shifts in a 24/7/365 manufacturing environment
- Willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends as business needs permit.
