The role of the Plating Cat Walk Line Tech is to manage and maintain the set up and control of all plating equipment on the Plating Line while maintaining a customer focus and creating value. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

· Responsible for following all environmental policies, procedures, work instructions and requirements applicable to his or her work, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.

· Responsible for immediately reporting to management all environmental concerns related to work being carried out, as well as, all incidents, which present a hazard to people, production, or the environment.

· Work directly with engineers to complete necessary continuous improvement projects, 5S projects, and determining scrap causes.

· Troubleshoot plating line malfunctions and restore operation utilizing hoist service system.

    · Handle and make additions of electroplating chemistry including acids, bases, copper salts, nickel salts, chromium salts, and others. Ensure upkeep of plating process equipment including but not limited to filter changes, chemical feed calibrations, manual temperature checks, chemical tank transfers, and recovery units.

      Education and/or Experience: Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred candidates will have 2 or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

      Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as concentrations, percentage, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

      Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

      OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Self-starter must be able to work with little direction and with high level of self-motivation. Must be able to work on own initiative and work well in a group. Strong knowledge of TS-16949 and Lean Manufacturing goals and objectives. Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding, tooling, and plating.

      The employee is frequently required to stand and walk, use hands to finger, handle, and feel, reach with arms and hands, and talk and hear. The employee is sometimes required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and sit. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to lift up to 10 - 50 lbs. daily.

      The employee will be exposed to toxic and corrosive chemicals.

      The noise level is moderate.

      The employee will need to wear all protective equipment relevant to working with hazardous chemicals.
