MOLDING PROCESS TECHNICIAN

 

Description

The SRG Global Molding Process Technician is responsible to support all aspects of the molding process to produce quality molded parts.

What You Will Do In Your Role

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

· Follow all plant safety and ISO / TS 16949 & ISO+14001 policies and instructions

· Responsible for setting Material Feed System & Mold Tools

· Responsible for setting / programming Hot Runner Panels, Injection Press & Valve Gate Units

· Responsible for setting De-Gater, End of Arm Tooling and required work cell machines

· Responsible for setting and programming Robot

· Responsible for releasing good parts at start-up

· Responsible to trouble shooting and correcting all aspects of the process to make quality molded parts

· Responsible to support engineering on tool trials and scrap reduction

· Keeps work area clean and organized

· Responsible for setting up / repairing / fabricating Robot End of Arm Tooling

· Other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    Education and/or Experience:

    High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience in a manufacturing setting required. Experience in a Molding area preferred.

    Language skills:

    Ability to read and understand documentation in order to set material feed system, tools, hot runners, valve gate units, robots, EOA, de-gaters and work cell machines. Ability to read and understand documentation in order to trouble shoot material feed system, tools, hot runners, valve gate units, robots, EOA, de-gaters and work cell machines

    Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate simple mathematical equations. Proficient at using measurement tools (pyrometers, calipers, micrometers, etc)

    Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Contain non-conformities and alter process until deficiency or unsatisfactory condition is corrected.

    The employee will be required to lift up to 10 - 50 lbs. consistently on a daily basis.
