Koch Fertilizer Dodge City, LLC is seeking a Plant Operator to join our team in Dodge City, KS.

This role is eligible for a $3,000 sign on bonus! 

4 on/4 off, 12-hour shift, alternating days & nights with occasional on-call schedule

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Leveraging technology and systems to gather and interpret critical data points to the daily operation of the facility
  • Continuously seeking knowledge to increase your contribution within the unit and the Company
  • Working as a team member to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Performing minor maintenance on manufacturing equipment and support equipment
  • Initiating daily inspections and walk down of critical equipment
  • Gathering samples and performing product tests to ensure quality
  • Operating control systems within a specified unit
  • Monitoring plant parameters (SOCL, Safe Operating Control Limits) and identify opportunities for correction and/or improvement
  • Performing tasks associated with safe production of fertilizer products, in an environmentally compliant and efficient manner following all plant policies and procedures

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Work a rotating 12-hour shift and occasionally work overtime and respond to callouts
  • Experience using computers / mobile devices for use of Microsoft office or other software programs

Physical Requirements:

  • Serve as a member of the emergency response team as an emergency responder
  • Required to wear any or all of the following PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, FRC, acid suits, breathing air, gloves, safety boots, respirators, and encapsulated suits. PPE use is in accordance with the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for a given task
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions
  • Work in confined spaces with supplied breathing air and congested areas
  • Climb stairs, ladders, ladders on vessels and columns, ladders associated with scaffolds in excess of 160 feet

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience working in an ammonia, chemical, or refinery environment or comparable military experience
  • Experience with water treatment, boiler operations, and basic mechanical equipment repair
  • Experience and application of safe work practices – Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO); Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
