Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE: | Work on Commercial Component Engineering Activities and support ECAD Library substance engineering activities. |
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the Commercial Component Engineering Part qualification process.
- Work with Product Development to understand the new products and component requirements. Suggest the electronic components from preferred and/or approved suppliers that are capable and meet the design requirements. Maintain AVL/AMPL records. Optimizes BOM cost during Design / NPI / Pre-Production phase. Also responsible to work with the requestor/initiator to ensure that the PCN process is followed and all updated/revised notifications are sent to the suppliers.
- Support Design Engineering in the identification and qualification of Electrical/Electromechanical/ Mechanical components.
- Responsible for PCN notifications, Electronics component life cycle management and product technical specifications changes.
- Perform Alternate component search and provide a detailed Component comparison report and should be a self-decision maker on component attributes.
- Work with Product Development and the supply base to develop low-cost alternatives. Understand all the components of related costs to know where opportunities exist. Work within the appropriate functional areas in the requestor/initiator to address potential areas of cost savings.
- Work collaboratively with the requestor/initiator, Peers, Supervisors, PMs and other engineering groups.
- Show value creation, productivity improvement and continual improvements and achieve organization /department/self-goals.
- Responsible for self-planning of work based on organizational priorities by closely working with the Manager.
- Ensure and encourage Team participation in Knowledge sharing on Technologies and Products.
SCOPE: | - Support the Advanced Engineering Team on the Electronic Component part qualification process. - Review \Validate the obsolesce component and suggest FFF or Drop-in replacement. - Electronic component Life cycle & PCN support. - Support ECAD Library project activities such as Data validation and sustenance engineering activities. - Commercial components audit. - Works on DFR and Team center fusion project. |
EDUCATION:
REQUIRED: | BE/B Tech in Electrical/Electronic & Communication Engineering |
WORK EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED: | 2 to 4 years of Component Engineering with Electrical/Electronic component knowledge. |
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Has very good communication skills (written & verbal).
- Experience with documentation standards.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
4. Good computer skills: Microsoft Office tools and ERP Tools knowledge. (Excel VBA Macros skill is mandated).
- Excellent organizational, data collection and presentation skills.
- Results & execution driven consistently delivers on commitments & stretch goals.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and passionate about continuous improvements.
- Experience with PLM, Library management and Various Industry standards such as RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, CSA, IPC, and CMRT.
- Familiarity with manufacturing and design environments.
- Cross-functional team experience is highly preferred
