Koch Glitsch, LP is seeking a Shift Supervisor in our Manufacturing shop in Wichita, KS for 2nd shift (M-F 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.). The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing on 2nd shift in all departments. We expect our supervisors to work and promote injury-free/incident free in a continuous manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have the desire to lead others while still being a part of the hands-on day to day operations.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Manage a diverse workforce in accordance with a prescribed day to day priority work list.
  • Provide oversight of the workload and direct focus of work based on changing or shifting priorities.
  • The selected candidate will provide direct leadership to a staff of up to 60 employees while ensuring we maintain safety, quality and compliance in all we do while achieving on time delivery.
  • The candidate will be responsible for problem solving, obtaining technical support as needed and ensuring communication is clear at all times.
  • Display MBM Culture.
  • Create a safe, and productive environment where staff can grow and feel fulfilled.
  • Attend afternoon production meeting in order to understand expectations for the shift that day.
  • Communicate responsibilities and expectations to direct reports and hold them accountable for results.
  • Communicate with off going shift leaders and prepare to discuss status and concerns with oncoming shift leader on the 3rd shift.
  • Communicate with Sales, Project Managers and other interested parties in regard to the status of work progressing through the shop.
  • Deal with problems from equipment failure to design issues in an effort to maintain tight schedules and expected deliveries.
  • Update status on critical projects as changes occur.
  • Ensure best practices are being followed for minimization of waste.
  • Ability to lift, squat and bend with up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work and stand 12 hour days in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience writing and delivering performance feedback
  • Knowledge of Lean Techniques
  • Leadership experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment
  • Fabrication experience
