EMC Test Engineer

 

Description

In this role you will be responsible for the EMC testing and troubleshooting of RF related products mainly automotive antenna systems, for providing technical expertise to product development teams, and for supporting the verification/validation of RF related products. Be the main point of contact for technical RF certification processes, including the GM LPRD(FCC) certification and Ford CV2X. Support EOL test engineering with the hardware and software validation processes.

What You Will Do In Your Role:

    • Knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility testing and troubleshooting
    • Understanding of RF products, including antennas, low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, etc.
    • Testing of antenna designs for use in vehicle applications such as cell phone, mobile radios, GPS, satellite radio, AM/FM, V2X, and other wireless devices
    • Characterize and troubleshoot antenna performance by conducting electrical tests such as far field gain measurements, impedance measurements, and various low noise amplifier tests
    • Execute DV and PV testing per scheduling
    • Develop Validation Test Plans with milestone deliverables for internal and external customers
    • Work with internal and external suppliers to facilitate validation testing needs
    • Review test lab reports from internal and external test labs
    • Prepare and submit validation test reports and present test results to customer
    • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to a variety of small or large groups
    • Evaluate, recommend, and implement software and hardware to reduce cycle time and improve product development efficiency
    • Adheres to quality and safety systems or maintenance of quality and safety standards
    • Perform other related duties and assignments as required

    What You Will Bring:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 years of relevant experience in electrical/EMC engineering, electromagnetics, and/or other specialized knowledge in the area of electromagnetic transmission, reception, and or interference.
