Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (KAES) is looking for a HR Leader to join its team at Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. Brandon is a key producer of fertilizers for Western Canada and the Northern US. The Brandon team has approximately 280 employees with occupations in Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, and Administrative support functions.

The HR Leader will be responsible for strategically partnering with leadership and employees to continue and/or develop effective strategies and programs that create a positive Employee Experience for our people. The HR Leader will also be responsible for leadership, support and supervisor of two HR Business Partners located at the Brandon facility. This position will be located at the Brandon facility but is open to a flexible work arrangement with partial remote work for candidates already employed with Koch. The position will report to the HR Director, Operations for KAES.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Leadership, support, and development for the Brandon HR Team
  • HR Business Partner for the Brandon Leadership Team
  • Lead Employee Experience efforts including HR programs, process, and systems addressing employee and business needs
  • Optimize programs and policies to support and practice Principle Based Management concepts
  • Build strategies that support leadership capability in supervisors across the site
  • Establish effective working relationships with union partners and stewards
  • Leverage Koch partnerships in payroll, benefits, compliance, and legal to ensure a positive employee experience
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships within the organization (team, peers, leaders and partners)
  • Partner with leaders to help the company meet its talent vision of Selecting, Developing, Rewarding and Retaining individuals committed to Koch’s Guiding Principles
  • Embrace, communicate, influence, and lead others through change.
  • Conducting thorough investigations in collaboration with compliance, legal and leadership

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies with proven, measurable results
  • Demonstrated ability to understand metrics and drive business performance.
  • Experience communicating and consulting with all levels of the organization
  • Five years experience in Human Resources 
  • Experience with HR Information Management Systems (Infor, SAP, etc.)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • HR experience in a union facility
  • HR experience in a chemical manufacturing or refining facility
