INVISTA Camden, SC Site is currently seeking individuals to join our team to work as Manufacturing Technicians. In this role, the successful candidate will safely operate and maintain our equipment to meet production goals. You will become a part of an important team which is responsible for ensuring the quality of our products meet the standards of our customers. Successful candidates that show the initiative and desire to develop new skills will have the opportunity to build a career at INVISTA.

Work Schedule:

  • Rotating 12.25-hour shifts. (6:45am – 7:00pm and 6:45pm – 7:00am) 
  • 36 hours one week, 48 hours the following week
  • Rotating shift schedule requires employee to work at least 50% of weekends
  • Average full-time work schedule of 14 days per month (includes a 7 day break every month)
  • Additional overtime opportunities are subject to business needs

What You Will Do In Your Role

Safety and Environmental Compliance:

  • Follow all corporate/site guidelines as well as any federal/state/local laws and or regulations without exception
  •  Safely operate manufacturing equipment in the Polymer and Cordura® production areas
  • Learn and properly apply procedures and perform required inspections of process equipment, make corrective actions per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Perform general and detailed housekeeping
  • Work with safety management systems to enhance safe work practices and behaviors across the site
  • Expected to carry out all activities with integrity, compliance, and in a safe and efficient manner

Quality:

  •  Identify and segregate product according to quality standards
  • Perform routine sampling of product to ensure quality product is delivered to our customers
  • Accurate data entry into multiple computer systems

General Requirements:

  • Good communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Perform job related tasks in a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize multiple tasks, adapt to change well and be resourceful in problem solving on a routine basis
  • Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and executing maintenance tasks


The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, or Qualifying Work Key Scores
  • Locating Information (required score-4 or higher)
  • Observation (required score-4 or higher)
  • Applied Technology (required score – 3 or higher)

What Will Put You Ahead

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years previous manufacturing or related experience
  • Experience with computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP
  • Previous experience troubleshooting in a manufacturing setting
  • Previous experience with chemical processes, polymers, spinning, extrusion, or plastics

Physical Requirements &Working Conditions (Ability to perform these requirements with/or without accommodation):

  •  Repeated lifting up to 50lbs may be required.
  •  Walking, climbing, squatting, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12.25 hours a day
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations including wearing personal protective equipment
  •  Work a 12.25-hour shift to include, weekend & holiday hours
  •  Work in a hot/humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
