Koch Fertilizer Fort Dodge is seeking an Asset Manager that exemplifies a passion for developing others and advancing a culture of integrity, humility, ownership, accountability, and respect in our organization. This individual will play an instrumental role in ensuring our site meets its maintenance and reliability commitments to the business.

This role works a 9/80 schedule and is eligible for relocation and/or sign on bonus incentives.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Champion the Principle Based Management philosophy to drive culture within the team.
  • Working in a manufacturing plant environment and capable of following all plant policies and procedures related to the position.
  • Support maintenance activities by developing, implementing, and monitoring asset strategies for production equipment.
  • Perform root cause failure analysis to understand equipment failures and update equipment strategies as appropriate.
  • Lead change through the Management of Change process ensuring process safety objectives are met.
  • Engage fleet SMEs to leverage utilization of existing knowledge and future technology.
  • Coordination and prioritization of long-term equipment strategies for the units.
  • Own and develop Turnaround/Outage Scope and Added Work Scope processes while optimizing cost, availability, and risk.
  • Additional work hours: night and weekend coverage based on demand

The Experience You Will Bring


  • 3+ years of experience working in an operations or maintenance role in manufacturing, industrial or military environment
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities such as mentoring/coaching, step up supervisor, or leading a team on projects/turnarounds/outages/etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft (Excel, Word, Power BI, Etc. – Building and maintaining dashboards to track assets and reliability metrics)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing
  • Equipment and/or manufacturing systems reliability experience
  • Project Engineering experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Construction management, field execution, or craft coordination
  • Experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance and FMCA (Failure Mode & Cause Analysis)
  • 3+ years of experience in operations or maintenance in chemical plant or refinery
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Experience in maintenance or in craft support (i.e.: Instrumentation & Electrical, rotating equipment, fixed equipment, etc.)
