As aPump Mechanic at FHR’s Pine Bend Oil Refinery in Rosemount, Minnesota, you will be part of the reliability team, which ensures that the refinery equipment runs safely, efficiently, and quality repairs are made in a timely manner. In this role you will be responsible for performing troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance and upgrades to pumps, compressors, and other rotating equipment in the refinery.

What You Will Do In Your Role

We are seeking candidates with professional experience as a mechanic, millwright, or other mechanical maintenance roles associated with troubleshooting, repairing, and working with large rotating equipment. Candidates should have experience maintaining a variety of mechanical assets working with tight tolerances and exact specifications. A strong commitment to working safely with the right tools, PPE, and environmental awareness is a must.

The successful candidate will have a desire to contribute in a team setting, have a willingness and interest in learning and utilizing new technologies, and is proficient utilizing computer based tools and mobile applications to access information about plant equipment and job tasks. Work is performed in both shop areas and outside in all types of weather. The ability to climb ladders, stairways, vessels, towers and pipe racks is required.

Competitive Pay and Benefits Package:

  • Starting hourly wage is $37.33 per hour with pay increases after training requirements are completed. When fully trained and qualified, $47.00 per hour.
  • The normal work schedule is: 4/10’s Monday through Thursday with the potential for both scheduled and unscheduled overtime, with the potential to work up to 14 consecutive shifts.

The Experience You Will Bring


  • High School Education or the equivalent
  • Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of how to use hand and shop tools
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Formal training and experience in the repair and maintenance of pumps and compressors in an industrial environment.
  • Previous experience with rotating reliability/maintenance in a refining, process, energy, or industrial manufacturing industry.
  • Previous experience using a CMMS system
