Lab Test Technician - Quality



Molex, in Rochester Hills Michigan is currently building our in-house Reliability Lab staff and are looking for a talented Mechanical Force Test Technician to join our team. If you are looking for a way to accelerate your career and be part of a great company, this may be the opportunity for you.

In this role you will have the opportunity to perform setup and standard testing on Molex products for reliability prior to their release and also to perform annual validation testing.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Work closely with Mechanical lab and test engineering staff to improve sample preparation and testing procedures, demonstrating an ability to work independently and in a collaborative setting.
  • Aid in the development of process instructions for new product fixtures.
  • Prepare samples for testing and assemble test fixtures according to Molex methods, Best Practices, or in collaboration with test/design engineering staff for new products.
  • Mechanical Lab testing duties may include, but are not limited to:
    • Perform Mechanical Lab force/tensile testing activities defined and outlined in Molex’ compression/extension testing procedures
    • Mechanical testing may include production (PV) and developmental (EV/DV) terminals, connectors, and compliant pin products.
    • Performs sectioning, polishing, and photographic/dimensional analysis of epoxy mounted specimens.
    • Operate various environmental conditioning test chambers (thermal shock, temperature-humidity, high temperature ovens)
  • Use MS Office products for processing test results for review. Monitor for data accuracy, inconsistencies, and support Test Engineer(s) resolving test problems and failure analysis efforts.

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Mechanical/materials testing experience
  • Experience working in a lab testing environment 

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Working knowledge of general shop tools such as screw drivers, pliers, wrenches, etc.
  • Experience with equipment such as Bridgeport, bandsaw, and surface grinding
