What You Will Do In Your Role

This position is onsite in Neenah, WI. The facility is responsible for identifying, developing and testing new solutions that add value to society and take advantage of GP’s core paper-related comparative advantage. The IT team located at the facility is responsible for providing the first line of support for the 300+ researchers. The below job description outlines the required skills that are necessary today to support the staff and facility.

This role performs routine local IT help desk response for a variety of clients and equipment with primary focus on desktop, laptop and conference room computer systems/equipment. Other duties may include set up, testing and configuration of computer interfaced systems including but not limited to laptops, tablets, data acquisition and control systems as well as introductory level client training on new implementations. As this position is primarily customer facing, a high level of customer focus and interpersonal and communication skills is required.

  • Maximize client productivity by providing timely response and solutions to IT related issues
  • Setup, configure and deploy new/replacement computer systems
  • Install and configure new software
  • Desktop troubleshooting and servicing
  • Maintain all applicable records
  • Provide level 1 network support
  • Assist in managing Active Directory
  • Assist in the making of Group Policies
  • Secondary Duties include:
    • Provide introductory level training to clients on new implementations.
    • Assist with special projects (IoT, wireless HDMI, innovation support, digital signage)
    • Basic program coding
    • Keep up to date with current technologies and trends
    • Seek out opportunities to improve IT processes/solutions
    • Configuring ports on switches
    • Adding and configuring network printers

  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot, configure, implement/upgrade desktops, laptops and tablets.

The Experience You Will Bring

A minimum of an associate degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience is required. A working knowledge of networked computer systems and Microsoft operating systems as well as applications is highly desirable. This position requires responsibility for self-starting and assuming responsibilities for tasks that need attention. This individual will routinely interface with many different clients working at different levels and must be flexible with the ability to communicate to meet the rapidly changing requirements that a research and innovation facility provides. The work environment requires continuous organization of IT work areas, involves following both basic and specific safety precautions as well as company and governmental regulatory practices.


  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11 Operating Systems
  • Communication and customer service sills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite
  • Desktop servicing/trouble shooting
  • Application installation
  • Fundamental computer network knowledge
  • Fundamental understanding of server/client operations

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory operations
  • Experience or training in process control systems
  • Knowledge of web application development
