Shift Leader



Koch Separation Solutions is seeking a Shift Leader to lead a group of 4-6 maintenance employees (HVAC/Mechanics/Electricians) to ensure production machines are kept running in an efficient manner. This is a working lead position (~20% administrative time per shift).

Work Hours for role is : Sunday-Tuesday; every other Wednesday: 6:00AM-6:15PM

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Prioritize and allocate maintenance resources on assigned shift in alignment with production needs.
  • Monitor maintenance work and ensure all procedures are followed.
  • Reinforce the safety culture by leading tool-box-talks and reviewing Stop-Think-Ask daily. Audit and enforce LOTO & safety regulations
  • Function as the technical and procedural standard bearer on assigned shift.
  • Available for rotational assignment on call for emergencies.
  • Organize, prioritize, and assign work orders and other tasks in support of facilities and maintenance operations.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair downed electro/mechanical/pneumatic equipment to get it back in operation.
  • Ensure availability of parts and materials required to complete tasks assigned to the Facilities crew (be able to follow Procurement procedure to locate stock parts and identify non-stock parts needs).
  • Research alternate replacement parts to replace obsolete components.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) work orders document the actual work done (labor time, materials used, problem diagnosis, etc.).
  • Ensure CM work orders are generated and documented in response to equipment issues as required.
  • Ensure completed work orders and other documented activities are closed out in a timely fashion.
  • Use effective communication and interaction with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor contractors on assigned shift to ensure compliance with KMS procedures and policies.
  • Support M-PET (CMMS) program continuous improvement (PM development and improvement, equipment data, spare parts and inventory).
  • Ensure equipment status is properly communicated/ transferred to other Maintenance and Production shifts by the end of assigned shift.
  • Manage license required (wastewater & boiler) staffing as needed.
  • Ensure that areas are kept clean and organized

The Experience You Will Bring


  • 3+ years' experience in a skilled trade leadership position (shift or craft lead)
  • Valid MA license in at least one of the following: Electrician, HVAC, or Plumbing

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience using computerized maintenance management software (CMMS)
  • Must be willing to obtain a MA wastewater operator license and a MA fireman (boiler) license within 18 months, which will be sponsored by company.
  • Technical certification in a skilled trade
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
