What You Will Do In Your Role

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Project Manager is responsible for the effective management of projects and tasks required to meet strategic business objectives. The primary expectation of the role is to lead high profile custom design product launches to successful commercialization. Using the MOLEX Product Development Process project management methodology, the project manager facilitates the global cross functional project teams throughout the project life cycle. (The project life cycle encompasses the Project Preparation, Proposal Development, Project Plan Development, Preliminary Design Completion, Final Design Completion, Production Process Development, Product and Process Qualification, Production Safe Launch.)

He / She must be able to use the PDP process related, management skills and leadership to lead the cross-functional teams to accomplish the project as the project plan requires.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.

Lead cross-functional teams to deploy the related activities and deliver new product launched on time and budget. Ensure that these teams achieve all customer and company requirements including quality, cost, delivery, product performance and customer satisfaction

2.

Track the work of project team members to ensure that work in completed on time and in accordance with the project requirements.

3.

Perform Risk Management to protect the Project Plan. Work with product development team to identify potential risks to plan execution and identify appropriate Mitigation or Contingency Plans. Get management support for proactive activities to meet the Project Plan

4.

Primary responsibility for identifying project risks and taking preventive actions as necessary. Escalate project issues where necessary and appropriate.

5.

Work closely with Business Development, Engineering, Operations and other Molex functions as necessary to ensure accurate scope definition and project management plan development and ensure efficient and timely project deliverables to customers.

6.

Customer focal point during the product development process. Communicates the voice of the customer to the organization with reference to the project. Install customer confidence in Molex and develops a positive relationship with the customer. Is responsive and timely to customer’s request for information and deliverables. Manage the customer to ensure that Molex meets our Project plan and customer expectations

7.

Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S)

Management Systems and Initiatives by following stated policies and procedures.

8.

Facilitate and manage the archiving of project documentation throughout the lifecycle of the project in the MOLEX PDP repository.

 

SCOPE:

· Works independently reporting the activity and results are reviewed on an agreed upon basis with management

· Position has a global reach through work with other Molex, Customer, and Supplier entities.

· Position focused on setting team direction for successful execution of the Project Plan.

· Position involves creative thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

· Travel to Customers, Suppliers, and other Molex entities as needed.

    Requirements:

    EDUCATION:

    REQUIRED:

    · Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing

    PREFERRED:

    · Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

    · Training in Quality Sciences

     

    REQUIRED:

    · Knowledge of product development activities (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and/or Sales/Marketing) through course work or work-related experience

    · Experience or knowledge of Project Management methodologies and tools.

    · 5+ years of automotive project management experience of managing large, complex, and cross functional projects in a manufacturing environment

      · Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively lead, motivate, develop, influence and work with other individuals and teams in a positive manner. Including an understanding to cultural differences.

      · Demonstrated ability to hear the voice of the customer, establish goals, project timelines and plan, prioritize and monitor workload of self and others to meet objectives and deliverables.

      · Capabilities to work directly with cross functional resources setting priorities, and follow up activity to meet project objectives

      · Capability to manage multiple projects at the same time.

      · Ability to remain flexible when changes arise.

      · Able to manage program/projects using defined management methodologies, tools, and governance processes, in this case the PPAP process

      · Implement and influence change in a fast-paced organization with competing priorities

      · Familiar with APQP Process, IATF 16949

      · Proficient in both oral and written English and Mandarin

       

      PREFERRED:

      · Familiar with VDA6.3
