Associate Project Manager

What You Will Do In Your Role:

Associate Project Managers are empowered to help lead or directly lead Cross Functional Teams in Project Execution. They are responsible for meeting or exceeding the Project Plan in terms of Scope, Economics, Quality and Timing. Projects may include, but are not limited to, New Product Development from Concept through Production Launch, adding Capacity Tooling, and/or executing Continuous Improvement Projects typically surrounding growing markets and emerging technologies

Be the Focal Point during our Product Development Process

  • Communicate the Voice of the Customer to the organization
  • Instill confidence in Molex and develop positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Be responsive and timely to requests for information and deliverables
  • Manage activities with support as needed to ensure that Molex meets expectations

Be the Team Leader

  • Escalate barriers clearly and concisely to secure management action
  • Facilitate win-win scenarios between team members for the overall project benefit
  • Drive and focus the team on the execution of the Project
  • Work efficiently and effectively with team members and their functional managers
  • Responsible to achieve the Project Plan requirements for Cost, Quality and Timing
  • Ensure that the Molex Product Development Process is followed

Perform the Project Management function

  • Make use of Project Management methodologies such as Action Item Lists, Team meetings, Change Control, Timelines, etc. to organize activities, drive towards milestones, and manage the team throughout the execution of the Project
  • Execute professional, informative, and timely Project Phase Reviews
  • Be flexible and align stakeholders as changes occur

Perform Risk Management to protect the Project Scope

  • Work with product development team to identify potential risks to plan execution and identify appropriate Mitigation or Contingency Plans
  • Get management support for proactive activities to mitigate risks

Achieve Financial Performance

  • Meet the goals set forth in the Project Plan for capital expenditure (PARs), Cost Justification performance and Expense budget
  • Document Annual Budget for open Project Plans

Work with Suppliers

  • Ensure that they meet Molex’s expectation for timing, cost, and quality in support of the Project Plan

Understand, support, and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures

Perform other related duties as assigned by management

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Two or more years’ experience in Project Management or Product Development or relevant field
  • Proven team leadership skills to anticipate, plan, prioritize and self-monitor workload
  • Receptive to the customer’s needs and shows a sense of urgency

What Puts You Ahead:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering Project Management Certification from PMI or Equivalent
  • Working with global teams (Europe, Asia, Americas)
  • Working with Automotive Companies
  • Connector industry Working directly with external customers
