Application Support Specialist

The Applications Support Specialist will report to the Applications Engineering Supervisor and will work closely with external customers/prospects and collaborate internally with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality. The Support Specialist will be the primary point of contact for customers to provide technical support, identify other products/applications that may benefit the customer and recognize new product opportunities. The Support Specialist will engage engineering/manufacturing to determine the viability of new product opportunities and assist in the "request for quotation" process. The Support Specialist will also serve as the liaison between customers and the company’s Quality department for any potential quality concerns. 

This role does not entail cold-calling and is not commission-based. It is an in-house technical sales/support role with 5% travel to other Molex and/or customer locations.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Contribute to a positive customer experience by responding to technical inquiries, requests for quotation and sales orders from existing and potential customers
  • Serve as the point of contact for customers to correctly identify the appropriate products for their applications
  • Work with Sales and Marketing team to identify customer needs/specifications that could lead to the creation of new products
  • Effectively communicate customer specifications to engineering and manufacturing
  • Initiate and monitor the preparation of quotations, sales orders and return authorizations
  • Strive to achieve mutually beneficial "win-win" outcomes for Polymicro and their customers

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Associate degree or higher in an Engineering or Scientific discipline
  • Minimum of 1 year of sales and/or customer service experience

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Sales experience in a technical manufacturing field
  • SAP experience
