Description
Primary Purpose
- Review Design Feasibility and Design Specifications, generate Design Concepts, Sales Drawings and Engineering Drawings to meet customer requirement for new products.
- Provide design support for product modification and other technical support activities for products in production.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Review and interpret customer design requirements from Marketing, Sales or Customer drawings or specifications.
- Provide preliminary design feasibility review per customer requirements.
- Generate, review and determine feasibility of design proposals in the form of CAD models, drawings or sketches.
- Create CAD design models, sales and engineering drawings, and other design specifications such as product, material and packaging specifications.
- Perform design verification activities including tolerance analysis and design FMEA.
- Conduct design reviews to determine feasibility of design and design for manufacturability.
- Release final design specifications for tooling design and development.
- Establish test specification plan for product reliability testing.
- Support tooling engineers in disposing First Article inspection reports.
- Approve or disapprove product deviation requests.
- Review engineering verification samples, documents and test reports for customer approval.
- Provide training to customer and other Molex engineering personnel as assigned by the Product Development Manager.
- Provide design support for product modifications and/or extensions.
- Provide design support for manufacturing process improvements and participate in cost reduction activities.
- Respond to customer complaints on design related issues.
- Participate in trainings, and actively reporting L&E misconduct.
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- University Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent, and above.
- Able to communicate (reading, writing and listening) in English.
- Good knowledge of product design process.
- At least 3 year of connector design experience and application.
- Molex CAD Software for drafting and design (One Space Solid Designer).
- CAE Tool – Hypermesh, Autobeam and Mold Flow.
- Molex Product Data Management System (Teamcenter, Polarion).
- Molex design and development process and associated engineering standards.
- Connector design and manufacturing technologies.
- Connector materials – resin and metal.
- Design problem solving skills – DFMEA, Tolerance Analysis etc.
- Adopt a professional attitude towards work and assume full responsibility for any project or tasks assigned.
- Demonstrate good teamwork for overall success.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience with developing automotive sensors including (but not limited to) road noise cancelling (RNC) sensors, microphone sensors, and sensors with A2B protocol.
