Primary Purpose

  1. Review Design Feasibility and Design Specifications, generate Design Concepts, Sales Drawings and Engineering Drawings to meet customer requirement for new products.
  2. Provide design support for product modification and other technical support activities for products in production.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  1. Review and interpret customer design requirements from Marketing, Sales or Customer drawings or specifications. 
  2. Provide preliminary design feasibility review per customer requirements. 
  3. Generate, review and determine feasibility of design proposals in the form of CAD models, drawings or sketches. 
  4. Create CAD design models, sales and engineering drawings, and other design specifications such as product, material and packaging specifications. 
  5. Perform design verification activities including tolerance analysis and design FMEA. 
  6. Conduct design reviews to determine feasibility of design and design for manufacturability.
  7. Release final design specifications for tooling design and development. 
  8. Establish test specification plan for product reliability testing. 
  9. Support tooling engineers in disposing First Article inspection reports. 
  10. Approve or disapprove product deviation requests. 
  11. Review engineering verification samples, documents and test reports for customer approval.
  12. Provide training to customer and other Molex engineering personnel as assigned by the Product Development Manager. 
  13. Provide design support for product modifications and/or extensions. 
  14. Provide design support for manufacturing process improvements and participate in cost reduction activities. 
  15. Respond to customer complaints on design related issues. 
  16. Participate in trainings, and actively reporting L&E misconduct. 

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  1. University Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent, and above. 
  2. Able to communicate (reading, writing and listening) in English. 
  3. Good knowledge of product design process. 
  4. At least 3 year of connector design experience and application. 
  5. Molex CAD Software for drafting and design (One Space Solid Designer). 
  6. CAE Tool – Hypermesh, Autobeam and Mold Flow. 
  7. Molex Product Data Management System (Teamcenter, Polarion). 
  8. Molex design and development process and associated engineering standards. 
  9. Connector design and manufacturing technologies. 
  10. Connector materials – resin and metal. 
  11. Design problem solving skills – DFMEA, Tolerance Analysis etc. 
  12. Adopt a professional attitude towards work and assume full responsibility for any project or tasks assigned. 
  13. Demonstrate good teamwork for overall success.

What Will Put You Ahead

  1. Experience with developing automotive sensors including (but not limited to) road noise cancelling (RNC) sensors, microphone sensors, and sensors with A2B protocol.
