Shift Manager

And deliver products and brands incorporated into your clothing, your car, and even your carpet. We are looking for one Operations Shift Manager to lead the shift based spinning operation. This is an exciting opportunity which will allow personal growth in areas of people and operational management. This is a shift-based role, working in 4 on x 4 off pattern (12-hour shifts). 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Lead the shift-based organisation to deliver key operational targets in EHS, Quality & Productivity.
  • Aligned to current and future business needs, build organizational capability through principled use of MBM coaching framework and performance management processes.
  • Drive the shift capability development aligned to Shift runs shift and site/business vision requirements
  • Responsible for developing and sustaining a culture aligned to our Guiding principles.
  • Driving transformation on shift including waste elimination.
  • Ensure that Technicians and Operators are fully trained before operating the plant.
  • Ensure all shift-based work is adequately controlled, including use of PtW & POWRA.
  • Lead daily production meeting to prioritize daily activities with internal service providers (Maintenance, Engineering, Technical, HR) to ensure plant productivity is maximized.
  • Challenge the status quo to deliver waste elimination in all areas.
  • Lead on shift operational excellence and operating discipline; drive high standards in all areas of operations (EHS, Quality, Standard work practices etc.…)
  • Gatekeep and prioritize maintenance activities within the area.
  • Incident controller in the event of a site emergency.
  • Responsible for escalating incidents and activating offsite response and investigation.
  • Complete a detailed and comprehensive handover between shift coordinators.
  • Lead on shift governance processes, completing audits aligned to plant risk profile.

  • Good IT capability: knowledge of Microsoft Office and IT systems (e.g. Plant historians).

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience of working in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with quality systems. E.g. ISO9001 & ISO14001.
  • Supervisory experience, including performance management.
  • Ability to operate and influence at different levels of the organisation.
  • Experience of statistical process control (SPC) and analytics.
