We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to help us create new solutions for life’s biggest needs. The ideal candidate is someone who shows the ability to inspire and collaborate and has technical experience leveraging data and technology to optimize current solutions create new capabilities. The Data Science Team at INVISTA is primarily responsible for selecting or developing models and related tools that create value for our customers and business partners. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Work with business capabilities to understand opportunities for data science to add value to the business
  • Deploy, develop, and train machine learning and artificial intelligence models
  • Engage with data engineering to create repeatable machine learning pipelines
  • Mentor other data scientists on the team
  • Assist leadership to set data science platform strategies
  • Drive predictive analytics from millions of time series data points
  • Own analytics projects from beginning to end, ensuring desired business outcomes are met
  • Practice continuous learning, explore new methods of applying existing technologies as well as new technologies
  • Partner with Manufacturing teams on projects to identify and articulate opportunities, see beyond the data to identify solutions that will raise the bar for decision making
  • Extract actionable insights from broad, open-ended questions
  • Own models in production, ensuring they continue to create value
  • Use quantitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand what can improve our processes
  • Identify point of retirement of projects and models

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field
    • 4+ years of experience in data science, specifically machine learning model usage, building and training
    • 4+ years of experience applying machine learning algorithms outside of academic data sets using Python and SQL
    • 3+ years of technical expertise and in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following Data Science topics: Conventional Machine Learning, Anomaly Detection, Deep learning, CNNs, Natural Language Process (NLP), text mining, and experience cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing time series data
    • 2 years of proficiency with building custom deep learning frameworks using TensorFlow, Keras, or Pytorch
    • 2 years of experience with Cloud technologies like GCP, Azure, and AWS

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 1 year of experience with Docker
  • 1 year of experience with MLOps
  • 2 years of experience with AWS tools such as SageMaker; Lambda, s3, ECR, Redshift.
  • Cloud Technologies like GCP, Azure, and AWS
