Description

Georgia Pacific’s Enterprise Data Products team is seeking a Data Analyst. This is a very hands-on role reporting through IT that is responsible for understanding our data and how it can be leveraged in enterprise data products to generate value for the business. This work will positively impact the operations of Georgia Pacific; specifically, the data and analytics capabilities.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Communicating (presenting, leading) with stakeholders (IT, business) to understand how data is structured and leveraged to generate value.
  • Exploring and wrangling data to understand data structures, hierarchies, and dependencies in support of creating reusable data for the enterprise.
  • Knowledge sharing with Enterprise Data Product Managers and Data Engineers to provide insight into data structure and content.
  • Working with Enterprise Data Governance to understand data domains, data classifications and relevant data standards and policies.
  • Profiling data, assessing quality, usability and understanding data content and context.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to solve data-intensive problems using standard analytics and insights frameworks and tools.
  • Developing metrics and gathering data to understand and measure data usability, reuse and value generation.
  • Creating dashboards that provide insights to data such as quality, value generation, number of assets, etc.
  • Updating information in AGILE tools (Azure DevOps, Boards, Backlogs) in partnership with geographically dispersed teammates.
  • Assisting in the development of, and accountable for the adherence to, standardized service level agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) where appropriate.
  • Documenting data, data products as needed to promote usability of data.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Experience with SDLC and AGILE work methods providing input for users stories, acceptance criteria
  • 3+ years of experience building dashboards for reporting and analytics
  • 3+ years of experience preparing data sets for reporting and analytics
  • 3+ years of experience using database query languages such as SQL

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Knowledge of AWS tool (S3, redshift, lambda)
  • Knowledge of data management, stewardship or governance concepts
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, or equivalent degree
  • Proficient with AGILE tools (examples: JIRA, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet)
  • Proficient with collaboration tools (Office 365, Team, SharePoint, Slack, etc.)
  • Knowledge of python
  • Understanding of ETL concepts, frameworks
  • Knowledge of manufacturing
  • Experience resolving data anomalies
  • Technical documentation
  • Data model development
