QA Engineer (i360)



i360 is a leading data and technology provider with political and commercial verticals. We are seeking a QA Engineer to join our data engineering team. The QA Engineer will be a key member of our growing and sizable team. You will collaborate with managers and engineers, create test plans, automated and manual tests, test code, test scripts and review and continually improve test plans and code design.  

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Accountable for creating, coding, and documenting accurate and thorough test plans and test cases with their expected outcomes
  • Work closely with the team to identify and implement manual and automation strategies
  • Participate in code reviews, monitor, and report defects through a structured defect tracking process to support continuous improvement of the end-to-end testing process
  • Actively involved in release planning and estimating test efforts
  • Keep the team updated on test results, test coverage, communicate risk areas and make recommendations for risk mitigation and process improvements
  • Lead test case peer reviews and provide feedback for improvement in areas such as standardization and test coverage
  • Provide input into the development of the QA team's policies, procedures, and tools
  • Track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts

The Experience You Will Bring


  • 3+ years of experience with testing tools with emphasis on back-end testing tools
  • 3+ years of experience in back-end testing of large relational databases & data
  • 3+ years of experience in analyzing user stories, acceptance criteria and preparing test cases/scripts

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with relational & reporting databases such as Postgres, Redshift, Snowflake etc.
  • Proven proficiency with SQL and ability to write complex database queries
  • Experience in development of data warehouse test strategies and test cases
  • Experience with manual, functional, performance and regression testing
  • Proven experience with defect tracking and management tools
  • Proven experience with Agile and Waterfall software development life cycle (SDLC) models
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and business acumen
  • Ability to work independently for major projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, being able to lead and mentor efforts
  • Masters/Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science or equivalent
