Senior Media Buyer



The Senior Media Buyer will be a member of our media trade desk (called the Research and Strategy team) and focus on setting-up and optimizing digital advertising campaigns for display, social, search, and other digital and traditional media. S/he will be responsible for campaign setup and optimization as well as interacting with internal customers to ensure customer needs are being met.

This role is designed to suit a candidate with significant experience in digital media buying. Additional experience with traditional advertising and/or advertising facets outside of buying are preferred. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Set-up campaigns in digital media engines and traffic/manage creative
  • Optimize campaigns to ensure best performing ads and keywords are running
  • Analyze data to determine optimal targeting for digital ads
  • Manage spend of campaigns to ensure that ads are delivered at desired pace
  • Design targeting experiments and test new, novel ideas
  • Research advertising industry to discover new technologies
  • Teach campaign setup and advertising methodology to inexperienced marketers, and collaborate with experienced buyers to implement and improve processes
  • Build reports using Google Data Studio, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Manage vendors to ensure they are meeting requirements
  • Negotiate contracts with publishers and develop new and novel win-win ideas for contract structure, including negotiating deals for remnant inventory with publishers who traditionally leave remnant unsold
  • Troubleshoot ad serving/tracking issues as they arise
  • Potentially some social media monitoring and research
  • Potentially tasks related to survey research, including compiling data, analysis, and assembling reports
  • Provide data-driven input on creative direction
  • This role will require occasional work on evenings or weekends (~15% of time) but will also allow for flexibility during the workday to compensate for this. Work weeks are not anticipated to exceed 40-45 hours per week.
  • Depending on a candidate’s experience and qualifications, this role may have one or more direct reports.
  • The role may require occasional travel (<5% of time)

The Experience You Will Bring


  • 5 years of relevant advertising experience, including at least one year in a role acting as a media buyer for either an agency or internal company team (managing spend of at least $1MM per year)
  • Strong ability to think quantitatively and economically.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Data Studio.
  • Significant experience using Google Ads 360 Display (or comparable), Google Ads and/or Search Ads 360 (or comparable), Facebook Ads Manager, LinkedIn Ads Manager, Twitter Ads Manager
  • Some experience using relatively newer advertising platforms like Spotify, TikTok, etc or demonstrable aptitude for learning new platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to develop and maintain detailed naming/cataloging system for elements of advertising campaign

    What Will Put You Ahead

    • Experience with B2B clientele and ABM
    • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools
    • Experience with email marketing platforms and/or email campaign planning
    • Basic experience with some sort of coding (for instance, SQL, R, Python, etc.)
    • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively negotiate with salespeople

    Candidate must be able to relocate to Atlanta or Wichita.
