Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer - Cheese



RELCO, is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer in our growing Stratford Wisconsin office to support our growth in dairy processing systems. You will work closely with our product line managers and process engineering group to design and optimize our dairy equipment product line. You will also be part of our new product development team focused on new and emerging markets and offerings. 


What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Lead in preparation of product definitions and specifications.
  • Participate in mechanical product designs including product specifications, material selection, CAD design, and detailed product drawings.
  • Design, implement and test new products to achieve desired features and specifications.
  • Document designs for product support and efficient development of successive product generations.
  • Interface with other company departments to ensure effective communications of new product development and continuing engineering activities.
  • Review and approve design and shop drawings.
  • Specify construction of equipment to drafters based on process design calculations.
  • Work with Process Engineers to develop P&ID drawings.
  • Prepare design drawings specifications suitable for use in manufacturing, construction, and communication with parties outside the company.
  • Produce drawings and other written communications concerning projects that are accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Resolve design problems.
  • Review and analyze specifications.

    The Experience You Will Bring


    • Technical skill and knowledge of mechanical engineering.
    • Expertise in engineering design tools specifically Autodesk Inventor and Vault software.

      What Will Put You Ahead

      • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Mechanical Design.
      • Previous experience with mechanical design in cheese, dairy, or membrane filtration.
      • Excellent communication skills – must interface successfully with other engineers, non-technical personnel and with customers to define and later deploy products.
      • Demonstrated initiative in solving challenging problems.
      • Ability to rapidly learn new concepts with little to no supervision.
