In Bridgewater, we serve large, global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing next generation optical modules to support the growing need for data and communications. We are developing optical connectivity solutions, optoelectronic solutions, Wavelength Selective Solutions, OptoHD assembly and fiber optic assemblies and arrays.

We are looking for a Database Developer that is responsible for working with our team to create, maintain and update database applications, APIs and tools that support our manufacturing processes. The developer will work closely with the project manager, process engineers and technicians to design and implement various process requests.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Provides software design, software debugging, software documentation and software testing
  • Evaluates, performs analysis and clearly understands process requirements
  • Documents processes via flowcharts, diagrams, as well as through code comments and consistent clarity of code
  • Designs, develops, deploys and maintain database solutions for various manufacturing processes
  • Manages post-deployment bug fixing and feature requests.
  • Communicates issues and work effectively with IT groups to resolve issues in manufacturing.
  • Investigates manufacturing applications down time and lags with cross functional teams and communicate effectively with overseas team on updates
  • Partner with manufacturing systems teams to create replicated environment to ensure process and applications run smoothly
  • Support data integrity to optimize manufacturing systems in production
  • Support database in manufacturing environment operating in 24X7 facility overseas
  • Tests the product to ensure that it operates satisfactorily
  • Reviews current systems for comprehension and improvements
  • Presents ideas for system improvements
  • Works closely with engineers and staff
  • Performs application testing before deployment
  • Prepares operating manual for users

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science degree or equivalent degree
  • At least 3 years of experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Experience with C programming
  • Experience with SQL, Javascript, json and Operating System level scripting
  • Experience developing in PostgreSQL and replication, backup and restore processes
  • Experience with object-oriented programming
  • Experience managing relational database interfaces
  • Experience scripting languages 
  • Understands Windows and Linux operating systems

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with PLM system
  • Experience with .NET programming
  • Experience with YAML
  • Familiar with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, Toad, etc.)
